We recently had the chance to visit Roadhouse Cinemas in Scottsdale to catch the highly anticipated new release of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)”. Now, we’ll be honest—when we first heard that a sequel to the 1988 classic was in the works, we were less than excited. Let’s face it, the past decade or so hasn’t been too kind to the film industry. With a sea of half-baked remakes and sequels flooding the theaters, we were worried Beetlejuice might fall victim to the same fate. Honestly, it felt like Hollywood was stuck on repeat, churning out regurgitated garbage while any shred of originality disappeared like sand in the wind.
And if we’re being completely candid, we thought this film might just be another disappointing attempt, especially after the disaster that was Disney’s handling of the Marvel movies post-Stan Lee. But guess what? We were wrong—very wrong.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) was not only a breath of fresh air but arguably the best sequel we’ve seen in years! Tim Burton pulled off something we didn’t think was possible—he recaptured the magic of the original Beetlejuice while adding even more hilariously spooky fun to the mix. Seeing most of the original cast back in action was a real treat, and the storyline was so clever that we were hooked from the first frame to the last.
In fact, we couldn’t stop laughing! The film delivered on all fronts—quirky humor, Burton’s signature style, and a plot that kept us engaged from start to finish. It was a nonstop rollercoaster of fun and nostalgia, all wrapped up in that whimsical dark charm that only Burton can deliver.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) gets a solid 5 out of 5 stars and 10 out of 10 stars from us. Trust us, if you’re a fan of the original or just in need of a fun, laugh-out-loud movie experience, go see this film. It’s a sequel that not only does justice to its predecessor but exceeds expectations in the best possible way!
